Once again a small town in BC has a new brewery. This time it was the town of Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. To be precise it is the historic area of Gibsons Landing on the seaside. The name of the brewery is Gibsons Tapworks and you should really make your way there and try out their beer.
When you walk through the doors you will find a beautiful lounge with white paint and wood furniture. Up a few stars you will find the bar and from there a view of the brewery itself. Currently they have 4 of their own beer on tap including a brown ale, oatmeal stout, Vienna Ale and an IPA. The beer upon opening is better than I would have expected from a new brewery and is really quite tasty. Neil, Geoff and Warren really know what their are doing with this brand new brewery. I was lucky to meet both Geoff and Warren when I stopped in and they are both very knowledgeable and excited to talk about what they are doing.
The brewery is small with a 7 barrel brew system. The brewery hosts 4 fermenters and 5 brite tanks. It is nice to have an extra brite tank to age a beer a little longer than the average when needed. They have some room to grow in the future so fret not beer lovers.
Its time to take your next trip over to Gibsons now and try some new beer.
