This part of the year always feels like it just flies by – I can’t believe Christmas is just 6 weeks away! So with little time until Christmas, I’ve started my Christmas to do list I’ve booked in a pre-Christmas high tea with 10 of my girlfriends at Rochelle Adonis in Highgate and I absolutely can’t wait. Bring on BYO bubbles, fine foods and amazing company.
Here’s my to do list and no surprises most involves food & drinks of some sort.
Choose a Perth venue for burger boy and I’s team Christmas party
Foodies I’ll need your help on this one – as burger boy and I’s business trades at night we need to find a Perth venue which opens late, can fit up to 40 people and where we can BYO.
We’ve held functions at the following venues previously so I’m hoping for somewhere different…
- Uncle Billy’s – love that it is BYO and they open until the wee hours of the morning
- The Ellington Jazz Club – it was cool that we could hire our own private room
- Grill’d Mount Lawley – our team (and burger boy) love burgers
Decide on two recipes to cook for our family’s Christmas gatherings
I always bring a plate to my family’s place and burger boy’s place for our family Christmas gatherings so I need to start testing out some recipes! Last year I brought my signature slow cooked American pulled pork to burger boy’s family’s place and fudge to my family’s place…

Christmas wish list & shopping
burger boy’s mum asked me what I wanted for Christmas last week and after a bit of a fashion audit, I think I’ll be wishing for new sunglasses, bags and a watch from the family this year (read my post about my attempt to get trendy for my new role in Mount Lawley). Although I think these fashion must-haves are my usual gift wish list suspects every birthday and Christmas.
I’ve seen some pretty good online wine sales and am tempted to start stocking up on drinks for Christmas – with the festive season ahead, I’m always in need of a bottle of something to take to dinner parties.
Christmas decorating
We’ve got a small house so the last couple of year’s we’ve had a tiny Christmas tree that lights up in the corner. This year I feel like decorating…so far I’ve got these super cute retro Wiltshire Enamelware to add to the dining table (you can win one here, my giveaway closes this Sunday 17/11/13)…
And this Christmas tea towel from burger boy’s Italian aunty…
Looks like I got a bit of shopping to get to!
