We've very kindly been sent some new outdoor wear from Blacks and Millets the outdoors shops which also have a huge selection online. If you've followed me for a while you'll know we are always out and about. At the weekend we were walking in Tewkesbury as it was super windy. Often we're up the hills surrounding Cheltenham or doing bits and bobs on the Cotswold Way.
As a family walking boots are essential. I grew up hill walking, up and down the Munro's in Scotland at weekends. I've never known a time I didn't own walking boots so I was thrilled to be sent these Women's North Face walking boots which are GORE-TEX® (super waterproof, keeping you dry), and are very breathable.
They're incredibly light to wear and use UltrATAC™ to keep you stable...
The North Face have updated their GORE-TEX® footwear to promote speed and agility for day treks and mountain adventure.
The ingenious UltrATAC™ sole system includes self-cleaning lugs which bite down deep into the ground to keep you stable and completely in control from step to step.
I'd absolutely recommend these walking boots - waterproof, light and comfy are the ideal combination! I also love the colour.
My boots are THE NORTH FACE Women's Litewave Fastpack GORE-TEX® boots which are RRP £100, but currently you can get £15% off in the Christmas sale, so they're down to a bargain £85!
They're incredibly comfy. As usual with walking boots I sized up and the size 7 fit perfectly. I love the colour don't you?
I've even worn them on the school run when it's been foul weather, and of course to the park as you need something comfy and waterproof chasing kids across the grass, and I don't want to spoil my new everyday boots!
I also received this Women's North Face fleece, again from Blacks Online...
I'm always wearing a fleece, and have probably spent years living in fleeces from all brands on the market. This has to be one of the warmest. I also love the length of the sleeves as they're on the long side so there's no way my wrists will get cold. You can see how long they are in here:
I read recently that cold wrists make you and your hands much colder, but if you keep your wrists warm you'll be warmer. I'm sure it's true as even on freezing days wearing this fleece with a couple of layers underneath is warm enough (not wind proof though!).
The fleece I've got is the THE NORTH FACE 100 Glacier Fleece Jacket it's RRP is £60, but it's currently on sale at 15% off so only £48!Interestingly this fleece is also made from recycled materials:
The fleece is constructed from recycled materials to create sustainable insulation, protecting you and the planet.
This fleece can also be zipped in with other The North Face items, jackets etc. I've a soft shell in Scotland at my parents, so at some point when we're up there I'll see how it fits.
Do pop back to the blog tomorrow as I'll be back tomorrow with my post on hubby's gifts from Blacks - again perfect presents for your other half. This is a collaborative post and we were sent these items for the proposes of this honest review - honest and all my own thoughts as always!
