Get Unready With Me

I love the feeling of a freshly cleansed face.. nothing beats this after a long day at work. Lately my skin has been playing up a bit. I’m getting a lot of hormonal acne consistently popping up on my cheek so I thought I’d share a Get Unready With Me detailing step by step my night time skincare routine for healthier and clearer skin.

My everyday work look is pretty basic which consist of foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush and brows.

Here’s my skincare night time routine step by step:

Step 1: Firstly, I tie my hair up in a pony tail and then put on a headband to get rid of those pesky baby hairs around my forehead.

Step 2: Soak a cotton pad with micellar water and wipe around the face. I’m pretty thrifty and don’t like wasting so I usually turn over the cotton pad to the other side and use it to go over my neck. If I’m travelling, I replace this step with makeup remover wipes.

Step 3: Taking a cream cleanser (or foam cleanser), I massage my face in a circular motion to thoroughly remove any residual makeup. Then I wash off the cream cleanser and dry my face with a small towel.

I would like to emphasize that using a single cleanser to remove makeup is not enough. Even if it looks clean, there might still be some makeup residual left. By not removing all traces of makeup, it can block pores and cause acne. I have always double cleansed since I started wearing makeup.

Step 4: Depending if I have acne, I would apply some acne treatment. Products like diluted apple cider vinegar or drying lotion works a treat for me.

Step 5: As my skin is generally dry all year around, I apply a thick layer of moisturiser so it leaves my skin feeling amazing.

Step 6: Apply a thin layer of anti aging eye cream and now I’m set for bed time!
