Thelma Plum is my girl, and now she can be yours too. Brisbane’s puppy-lovin’ songstress has been enchanting the masses over seas since 2012 with a her signature storytelling style, whispering, acoustic guitar melodies and stark vulgarity. In 2013, her Rosie EP (named after her dog, of course) brought her from playing songs on her porch with Rosie to playing on stages around the country. The young lady with a strong, quirky voice made quite the name for herself with just one EP and created a wave of anticipation for her next release.

Still in her teenage years, Plum is making big strides with the shiny new sound of her latest single “How Much Does Your Love Cost?”. Taking her acoustic sound to a new level, she worked with hip hop producer M-Phases (Eminem, Kimbra) to fill out her sweet folky sound with unique layers of smooth production. Rocking in on a western-style riff, Plum’s familiar vocals and bits of electric guitar and rattlesnake-esque percussion carry the song into the hypnotic, string-woven chorus. Her sound has evolved with a maturity and sense of reaching that maintains the honesty in her songwriting. “How Much Does Your Love Cost?” is the lead track off her Monsters EP, which came out on July 3rd in Australia and will hopefully make its way to the US very soon.
