Get The Look..

By Hollysbeautybox @hollysbeautybox
Hi everyone!
Get The Look..
So I posted this picture of me on Instagram and Twitter on Monday and so SO many of you asked me to do a 'get the look' blog post, so I thought I would tell you which products I used and how I applied them.
First of all, I washed my face with the Clarins Anti Pollution cleanser and then moisturised with the new Laser Treatment Clinic 'Marine Boost Super Serum' (what a mouthful!). I let my skin sit for a few minutes and then I primed my skin with the new Olay 2 in 1 hydrate & primer. I let this sit for a few minutes aswell.
Ok now onto makeup.  I was feeling super sleepy on Monday (typical Mondays right?) and so needed a little bit of extra coverage because my skin was looking a little dull and a few blemished were starting to show their nasty faces. I used my favorite foundation for a good buildable coverage, which is Nars Sheer Glow.  My shade is Deauxville which is the fairest shade and I just love it's consistency and finish.
TIP:  If you're looking for a really good drug store alternative to Nars, head on over to Rimmel - its almost identical in terms of coverage and finish but the fairest shade is much more pink based than the Nars one (Grrr!!!) With that said, a fiver for the Rimmel one means you could buy two and mix the shades and still spend considerably less than the more expensive Nars Sheer Glow which retails at around £30.
Anyhoo, ontop of that, I used the Nars Smoothe Creamy Concealer to hide a few imperfections (A LOT of imperfections) and some dark circles (I look like I have 2 black eyes!) and the concealer really hit the spot.
Again for a drugstore dupe, I would try the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer which actually, I prefer to the Nars one, even though I do LOVE the Nars one too.
To set the foundation and concealer, I used an Eco Tools powder brush & Rimmel transparent powder (which is my all time favorite setting powder!).
Ok, onto brows - I used the Kiko Brow set and I absolutely LOVE this set. It has two powders - one in light brown and one in a darker brown, and it also has a dark brown wax. It also has eyebrow tweezers, an eyebrow spooly thingy and an angled brow brush.
I have really rubbish brows that take SO long to grow and so I need to fill mines in a fair bit.  I use upwards strokes with the darker of the two powders and try to follow the natural brow shape as best as I can.  I then accentuate the brow arch and fix any mistakes by using some concealer.
Onto eyes, I used Mac Mineralize Eyeshadow in 'Exquisite Ego' which is a bronzey color.  I pressed that all over the lid.
I used a little bit of Avon 'Supershock liner' in black to tightline the upper lashline, and Rimmel Scandaleyes liner in the lower waterline in 'nude' (a flesh colour) to brighten my eyes up a tad.
I used some Maxfactor False Lash Effecr mascara and the eyes were good to go.
I put on some of the new Clinique Colour Pop blusher in 'Ginger Pop' (not sure if it's released yet but if it is - go get it! I LOVE it!) - I just popped this onto the apples of my cheeks and finished with a little bit of Mac Mineralize Skin Finish in 'Center Of Attention' to the cheek bones, down the nose and brow arch.
Finish the whole look with some New CID lipstick in 'Belle' and the whole look was good to go!
Seems like sooo many products were used for this look but honestly, it's not as much as you think and the whole look took me 10 minutes to do.
I hope you loved this blog post almost as much as I loved writing it (I love this kind of post!) and I'd love some suggestions for other blog features too.  A lot of you have asked me to do a 'drugstore alternatives' blog post so I might do that next? Whaddya think?
xxxxxxx
