Get Some Illyin Pipes in Your Ears Stat [video]

We’re falling over ourselves after hearing Toronto-based Illyin Pipes’ mesmerizing live track, “Cold Season”. The first two and a half minutes is all setup, and it’s anything but boring with intricate texturing and looping occurring. It’s one thing to have a beautiful voice like Jill Harris, but it’s another thing to loop that beautiful voice to form layered harmonies and textures that frame the entire song. The airy, electronic waves are punctuated by crisp drums that begin around the two minute mark, and the whole formula just feels refreshing. “Cold Season” is a graceful, gorgeous goodbye song with clean lines and an infectious, chill vibe that we really want you to hear/see.

The band has one song on Bandcamp that was released at the beginning of the month, and it’s really pretty as well. There’s talk of recording an album on their Facebook page, so keep an eye on Illyin Pipes because we’re calling it!
