Get Ready For A Thrilling INDYCAR Grand Prix Weekend!

The INDYCAR Grand Prix kicks off the Greatest Month in Racing on Saturday, May 13 with Verizon IndyCar Series action on the IMS road course. Races in all four Mazda Road to Indy ladder series also will take place during the May 12-13 event, providing a full schedule of exciting open-wheel action.
Get Ready For A Thrilling INDYCAR Grand Prix WeekendKids 15 and under are free both days of the INDYCAR Grand Prix weekend, and at all IMS racing events-in General Admission areas when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Family will also want to mark their calendar's for May 12th, when the Indianapolis Motor Speedway presents a special screening in Pagoda Plaza of the fun family film, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul" is the fourth movie based upon the wildly popular children's book series by author Jeff Kinney.
During the weekend you'll IMS is offering free admission to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum for INDYCAR Grand Prix ticket holders. Then later, race fans will also be allowed to walk on the track after the race Saturday, sharing in the celebration, experiencing the famous IMS circuit and kissing the famous Yard of Bricks.
Plus, if you are looking for a unique experience consider three-night infield camping  that will be offered for recreational vehicles and tents along the IMS infield road course at the INDYCAR Grand Prix for the first time. Race fans and families can choose from a variety of locations offering great views of exciting Verizon IndyCar Series action. And, IMS President Doug Boles will camp with fans in the infield during the INDYCAR Grand Prix weekend this May, with Verizon IndyCar Series drivers also making surprise visits to campsites.
Also taking place this weekend is the NXG Youth Motorsports on Saturday, May 13th, in which boys and girls ages 11 to 15, primarily from areas with limited exposure and access to motorsports, participate in the driving programs presented by NXG Youth Motorsports and sponsored by Lucas Oil Products.
Then, on Tuesday, May 16 and Wednesday, May 17, the Hoosier Racing Tire Student evKarting World Finals will take place on a temporary, technical road course behind Tower Terrace in the IMS infield. The event is the pinnacle of the evGrandPrix program organized and run by Purdue University's Motorsports program.
Sixteen to 18 teams are expected to race in the sixth annual competition for the college division. Teams are expected from the University of Oklahoma, defending champions Kennesaw State University, Purdue, Ivy Tech and a college in Quebec among the entrants.
