WAH Nails Book of Nail Art £9.99 (limited amount of signed copies available!)
I think this may be one of the best books I have bought in a while! While I was mooching around on Tumblr, I was greeted by the announcement that the book was ready to be purchased online, and I did get a little bit excited ;) When I started really getting into nail art, I took a lot of inspiration from the company's Tumblr page, so the idea of a book dedicated to recreating some of their signature designs was more than appealing for a person like me.
Even the parcel had it's own personalised touch, in classy black and gold with a few stickers and a handwritten address, which is unfortunately quite rare these days - everyone loves their Avery letter labels and mail merge! - which contained a tissue wrapped book with a price list for their London salons, which one of these days I will go and visit.
The book itself looks just like I expected. Bright colours, and a quirky feel to it that mirrors the attitudes of WAH and what makes it such a great company - complete with my own little message from Shar, the brains behind the whole business venture (I'm not too sure how many signed copies are still available on the Big Cartel site, but they haven't sold out just yet). There's a brief history of the company, bits of info about people involved with the company and plenty of photos documenting the workings of the nail salon scattered amongst the nail art tutorials, which range from a glitter fade look, to eyeballs, to studded nails. They all require a bit of practice and the full color range of the Model's Own WAH Nail Art Pens, but it is worth investing the time and money as the looks they have included in the book are all awesome and can be customised to your own liking - once I retrieve my pens from my house in Bristol, I'll definitely be recreating the bow look (see above) as soon as I can!
For £9.99, the book is a great investment if, like me, you love changing your nails on a regular basis and see them as an important component of any outfit. I also love how everything feels like it was made with total love and care, unlike some ventures that company's take these days.
