Over a damn turtle.
I suspect that, somewhere, hidden near the bottom of the legal rationale for protecting that turtle–even if that protection requires killing some innocent men–is the MOOA presumption that a man is nothing but an animal and therefore, the turtle has as much right to live as we do. The MOOA presumption doesn’t elevate animals to the status of a man; it lowers men to the status of animals.
