Spanish company Geeksphone was the first and the brave adopter of the new Firefox OS. After successfully releasing the first batch of developer preview devices Keon and Peak, the company is now preparing to launch the improved, first consumer-focused Firefox OS-powered smartphone, Peak+.
Peak+ is the much improved version of the previously released Peak developer phone. This phone comes powered with the latest Firefox OS 1.1 and has a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm chipset, 1 GB of RAM, 4.3-inch qHD display, 8-megapixel main camera and 1800 mAh battery. The phone has 4GB internal storage and is capable of expanding up to 32 GB via MicroSD plus free 25GB of cloud storage on Fiabee.
Starting today July 25 the Peak+ will be available for preorder in a limited quantity with a price tag of €149 ( about $196 USD). According to the official press release, this is a limited promotional price. Standard price will apply for the other customers when the new Firefox smartphone head out on September 15.
