{GBF Fall Trend | How to Wear Culottes}

When culottes surfaced earlier in the Spring, I cut it out of my style file as it reminded me of gaucho pants, a trend I attempted and failed miserably to pull off a few years ago. However, after seeing its styling power in editorials and street style looks, I'm warming up to its sartorial appeal. It's a fresh and versatile summer to fall transition piece that can work both day and night with two minors caveats. One, unless you're six feet tall, wear heels! Two, it's a trend, not a staple so there's no need to take out a second mortgage to rock the look. I've found some fab culotte options that hover under $100. 
{day} Layer it with a slinky trench coat, luxe fitted tee, or a silk blouse. Stay away from voluminous tops as boxy proportions will overpower and create a dumpy silhouette. {night} Pair culottes with a silk tank, fitted top, or juxtapose its inherent masculine vibe with a sweet blouse.
