START THE DAY
Good morning hockey fans. Tonight the Pens will host the Boston Bruins at CONSOL Energy Center.
The Penguins finish a three-game homestand against the Boston Bruins (TV: NBC Sports Network; Radio: 105.9 the X) at CONSOL Energy Center.
Pittsburgh enters tonight’s game having gone 7-2 in its last nine games at CONSOL Energy Center.
The Penguins’ 15 home wins are tied with Tampa Bay for the most in the NHL.
Pittsburgh is 8-1-1 in its last 10 games against Boston. The lone regulation setback during that span was a 3-2 loss on Dec. 7, 2013 at TD Garden. In that contest the Penguins scored first and held a 2-1 lead until Boston tied the game at 18:31 of the third period (David Krejci goal). Boston’s Zdeno Chara followed with the game-winner at 19:47 to steal two points for the Bruins.
Here in Pittsburgh, the Penguins have won four straight games against the Bruins.
The last seven games between Pittsburgh and Boston have been one-goal affairs.
A win tonight would give the Penguins 25 wins by the midway point of a season for just the fifth time in franchise history (excludes lockout seasons).
