PITTSBURGH -- The Cardinals will have two chances to clinch their third straight National League Central title Wednesday at PNC Park.
Following Tuesday's rainout, the Pirates and Cardinals will play a full day of baseball along the Allegheny River, with postseason implications for both sides. Game 1 of the day-night doubleheader is scheduled to start at 1:35 p.m. ET. Game 2 is slated to begin at 7:05 p.m.
If the Cardinals win just one game, they will reduce their magic number from two to zero and capture the NL Central championship for the third year in a row. They'll look to put away the Pirates behind right-hander Michael Wacha in Game 1 and lefty Tyler Lyons in Game 2.

If the Pirates can sweep both games, they will keep their division title hopes at least mathematically afloat. The Bucs, leading the NL Wild Card race, currently trail the Cards by four games with five left to play.
The Pirates will send their ace to the mound Wednesday afternoon, bumping up right-hander Gerrit Cole a few hours from his scheduled Wednesday night to start Game 1. Right-hander Charlie Morton, initially scheduled to start Tuesday's postponed game, will instead pitch in Game 2.
Things to know about this game
• The Cardinals will make a high-profile addition to their bullpen for the doubleheader: right-hander Adam Wainwright, who will be activated from the disabled list and make his return from April surgery on his left Achilles.
• Cole has been at his best down the stretch, carrying an 11-2 record and 2.98 ERA in 16 September and October starts into Wednesday's start. The 25-year-old right-hander has also pitched well against the Cards, going 2-1 with a 2.33 ERA in three starts against St. Louis this year.
• In what is expected to be his final regular-season start, Wacha can become the first Cardinals starter younger than 25 to win 18 games since Joe Magrane did so in 1989. Wacha has thrived when facing the Pirates, putting together a 3-0 record and 1.93 ERA in six career games (five starts).
