"Locke looks to make impression vs. Davies, Crew

The Pirates have six starting pitchers for what will eventually become a five-man rotation. Left-hander Jeff Locke will take the mound for the Bucs on Saturday night at PNC Park, surrounded by speculation that he will be the odd man out.
Locke has had an inconsistent year, carrying a 7-10 record and 4.56 ERA into Saturday's start against the Brewers, but pitched well his last time out. The lefty allowed one earned run on four hits, while striking out six over five innings in Cincinnati.
The Brewers will counter with 22-year-old right-hander Zach Davies, coming off his first Major League win Monday in Miami. Davies allowed four runs on four hits in 4 1/3 innings against the Pirates on Sept. 2.
Things to know about this game
• Locke's environment should work in his favor Saturday. He has put together a 3.62 ERA in 14 starts at PNC Park this year, compared to a 5.69 ERA in 13 road starts.
• Expect to see Brewers outfielders Ryan Braun and Domingo Santana and shortstop Jean Segura back in the lineup Saturday. They all got the day off Friday amid a 10-day, three-city road trip through Cincinnati, Miami and Pittsburgh.
• Braun and Segura have thrived against Locke. Segura has hit .345 with a .918 OPS against the lefty, while Braun owns a .321 average and .857 OPS in 28 trips to the plate against Locke.
