4-6 5-5

Jeff Locke, LHP
0-1, 6.00 ERA
Locke has extra incentive after the Pirates had considered skipping his start, until a hamstring injury by Wandy Rodriguez kept him in line. He must get ahead of hitters to be effective, which he did not do in his first start.

Johnny Cueto, RHP
1-0, 2.77 ERA
Cueto was not sharp opposing the Nationals, as he threw 108 pitches over six innings. The killer inning was a 30-pitch second where he gave up three runs and blew a 3-0 lead. But credit to Cueto for hanging in there and getting his team a win.
