FYF Fest 2015 Preview

If you’re looking for the festival deal of the year, you will most certainly find it in FYF — the Los Angeles mega-monster of music events. This lineup is the best of it’s kind with heavy hitting headliners as well as the best mid-level acts and rising stars. LA has really outdone itself this time, luring New Yorkers, Midwesterners and foreigners alike with this irresistible, nearly too good to be true weekend.

Headliner is a relative term at this festival, where more than half of the acts are selling out shows across the world. Think Run the Jewels, FKA Twigs, Solange, etc etc etc. See some of our favorites below:

Frank Ocean

The R&B man of our dreams will be coming out of hiding to swoon LA away. He’s been teasing fans with mysterious tumblr posts and hints via hashtags that his new album Boys Don’t Cry will be dropping soon. Could his FYF appearance be the trigger to some solid information or maybe even…some new songs?

Morrissey

Can you really have the perfect festival lineup without Morrissey, the light that never goes out? The answer to that question is obviously no.

D’Angelo

This soulful, magical man has been making audiences cry all over the world with his perfect performances. Get ready for him to defend his Messiah status in LA.

Bloc Party

Of course we can’t forget about British rockers Bloc Party, who have been ruling our hearts since the 90’s. Despite the loss of their original drummer and bassist, the band has emerged from their hiatus and is working on a possible fifth album. (?!)

Mac Demarco

Let’s hope for some stage antics from Brooklyn’s very own, Mac Demarco. His recently released mini-album Another One, is filled with the best kind of love songs and of course some kickass guitar.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra

The latest release from this New Zealand/Portland based act is a beyond fantastic follow up to their previous release II. Both boast a psychedelic, R&B inspired sound, perfect for a live set.
