FURLA Pre-fall & Autumn/Winter 2017 Collection Preview

I alway find myself anticipating each Furla collection; because there is always some exciting style evolution that awaits with each collection! Starting on a very good note as these beautiful, whimsical interchangable covers of their iconic Metropolis Crossbody bag greeted me as I stepped into the event. From butterflies to unicorns, this preview was set to impress.

This season is a vibrant inspiration of by the artwork of Italian artist Ettore Sottsass, FURLA’s graphic props transform everyday experiences into fascinating occurrences. Strongly hued elements coupled with architectural details appear as backdrop bring to mind the quitessential flamboyant Italian style and sophistication.

The FURLA Gioia satchel in goatskin and Saffiano leather is versatile for everyday, a saddle bag that has a flap composed of a patchwork of two red flowers, or a stylized zebra figure peering out of floral foliage, made in vegetable tanned leather and available either in a solid color or an all-over print, it stands out for its extreme lightness.

Absolutely loving the slouchy rocker vibes of the FURLA Dafne Advatar Backpack bag, which is dressy enough even for a evening dinners and beyond.

Lovers of cute will not be disappointed with the newest FURLA Candy Jungle: These animalie rjelly backpack and bowlers certainly reminds me of the popular Angry Birds cartoon movie, with their  unique jungle eyes,a visual effect created by appliques on thebags.

These nudish FURLA Milano pieces are perfect additions to my normcore collection...I also loved the preppy prints on these FURLA Metropolis; be spoilt for choice with exotic floral blooms or animals of the savannah like Giraffes and Panthers. A good size of daily use, and adds a touch of color to any outfit.

The AW17 FURLAMen’s collection draws inspiration from various sources, which transitions sporty to preppy themes. Transient, these sartorial references never lingers too long in any single period, preferring simply to take note and borrow here and there, jumping freely from one thing to the next, from one style to another –like a stream of consciousness, an outpouring of experiences and emotions.

Never to fail me, the Men's collection is as quirky as they come; a new take on the FURLA classic –the FURLA Icaro gets injected new life with splashes of acid-bright colours associated with skater culture and urban parkour sessions. Spot gorgeous jungle prints in muted graphic shades!


The FURLA MarteBriefcase serves up the same balance between formality and creativity, providing a pleasing contrast between its quietly elegant lines in a single color and its bright, removable tablet case, which can be mixed and matched with the collection’s other pouches in assorted prints and colors.

I'm loving the cheery mod-vibes of the these babies; the patchwork block cut-outs are simply but impactful.

The FURLA Like Bags are inspired from the 30's, with a businesslike tote structure and monochromatic colors. This shoulder strap bag also carries minute details such as small metal eyelet embellishments with the luxe mix of materials. Available in a 3-toned Oasi Double calfskin and comes with an additional pouch. 

My fave pick had to be the FURLA Scoop, which channel more of the 40's insociant minimalist style; with a simple centerpiece gold buckle and a pronounced flap that's avail in either snakeskin printed calfskin or entirely reptilian skin.
