I get a ton of free tote bags. Seriously it’s a problem. I get free bags with purchases. I pick up them up at promotional events. I’m drowning in them. So I’m good for totes, right?
Nope. The ones I receive are of extremely poor quality and are too shallow to be of any real use. I received from Donna Karan that ripped the third time I used it. That coupled with the fact that these bags NEVER zipper shut makes them useless. Still, single-use plastic bags are very bad. A few weeks ago a whale was found dead with dozens of bags in her stomach. New York even has plans to ban single-use bags in 2020 following Hawaii’s example.
Am I the ONLY person who NEVER remembers to bring the plethora of free totes one gets to the store? Okay, maybe weekly planned grocery trips, but spontaneous pop into the CVS for gum that leads to, “Oh, they are having a sale on laundry detergent!” turns me into one of those people who has a million plastic bags shoved between the wall and the fridge.
