Friday’s Fab Find: Knitted Knockers

Do you ever wonder what makes a Fab Find? Well it's a number of things. Does this product or service address a specific need or issue? Does it provide convenience or save time? One thing that really tilts the scales is charity. Does buying this purse/perfume/jewelry help other people? At Bridgette Raes we love helping other people especially if you can do it while shopping. We just love helping people.

In the past few months I've been trying different things to get healthier. Yoga, walking, meditation. I've seriously considered taking up knitting or crochet because I've heard it's very relaxing. Bridgette Raes is an avid knitter. Have you seen all her knitted projects on Instagram? She suggested we feature Knitted Knockers.

Knitted Knockers

Knitted Knockers is an amazing charity that provides free soft comfortable breast prosthetics for breast cancer survivors. Visit their site here.

Traditional breast prosthetics are usually expensive, heavy, and uncomfortable. They typically require special bras or camisoles with pockets and can't be worn for weeks after surgery. Knitted Knockers on the other hand are soft, comfortable, beautiful and when placed in a regular bra they take the shape and feel of a real breast. Volunteer knitters provide these free to those requesting them. Knitted knockers can be adjusted to fill the gap for breasts that are uneven and easily adapted for those going through reconstruction by simply removing some of the stuffing.

Volunteer to knit Knitted Knockers

There's only one problem with Knitted Knockers. There's a HUGE demand! That's where YOU come in. The above website provides patterns so you can knit or crochet a knockers for a breast cancer survivor who needs it. There's a guide to setting up your own knitted knockers group or you can find an existing group near you! This is such a gift to a woman going through horrible time in her life. Knitting can be very relaxing, just ask Bridgette. She calls it her natural Xanax. There are only winners here.
