Friday’s Fab Find: Henry Rose Perfume

“No elegance is possible without perfume. It is the unseen, unforgettable, ultimate accessory”–Coco Chanel

I love perfume. Anybody who reads this column with regularity knows I LOVE perfume!  I feel naked without it and feel panic when my bottles start to run low.

But there is one thing I hate about fragrances. They often refuse to reveal their ingredients burying the dangers on harsh chemicals underneath Latin words and tiny print. Anything you put on your skin will end up in your bloodstream. Perfumes are particularly complicated as they will also get in your lungs and can even affect those around you as well.

The truth is, the term “fragrance” is often used as a catch-all for thousands of under-regulated ingredients.

That said, one of my biggest pet peeves is when cosmetic companies try to market their products with the words “all-natural!”

Natural DOES NOT equal healthy.  Actress Michelle Pfeiffer wanted a high-quality perfume that only contained safe non-toxic ingredients. Unable to find a company she liked, she decided to create her own!

Henry Rose Perfume

The ingredients in Henry Rose Perfume are verified by the Environmental Working Group and produced by l IFF, a luxury fragrance house, and made from a list of high-quality ingredients.

  • Cruelty-free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • No parabens
  • No phthalates
  • No formaldehyde
  • No known or suspected carcinogens
  • No known or suspected endocrine disruptors

And Henry Rose doesn’t stop there. The company is wholly committed to doing everything they can to be as ecologically responsible as possible.

  • Bottles are made from 90% recycled glass, and are 100% recyclable.
  • Caps are made from sustainably-sourced and commercially compostable soy.
  • Boxes are made from recycled corrugate paper and are recyclable.

Here come the fun part. Order the sampler set for a mere $20 and get 2ML samples of all 5 perfumes.  When you pick the one(s) you want, a $20 credit will be applied to your order.  My personal fave is the curiously named Jake’s House. Visit their site here.
