Friday’s Fab Find: Create Couture Jewelry

"The funny thing about writing is that whether you're doing well or doing it poorly, it looks the exact same. That's actually one of the main ways that writing is different from ballet dancing." -John Green author of "The Fault in our Stars"

If you've been reading me on this blog for a while you know I love DIY stuff.

I posted about Gemz Shoe Craft Kit and Origami Owl, for example.

Seriously, is there anything cooler than getting a compliment on something you are wearing only to be able to shoot back "I made it myself!"

Growing up, my Grandmother OC learned to sew as a child and turned it into a career. My mother Jo was quite the seamstress, as well. Me? Not so much. I had the drive and the tools but lacked any creative ability whatsoever. Whenever some kit tells me it's "foolproof" I think, "oh, you haven't messed with this fool."

Create Couture Jewelry

So when I discovered Create Couture Jewelry I was pretty surprised. Could even super clumsy me, create pretty jewelry without gluing myself to the table?

The instructions are so simple that, yes, even I was able to do it! These kits are designed for 8 years and up and it took me only a few minutes to create my own pop art necklace. The jewelry is not craft jewelry, but the same high end jewelry designers use, only YOU'RE the designer!

I can't think of anything more fun than a children's birthday party where everyone gets to take home their own ready to wear jewelry they created themselves.

All Jewelry kits come with everything you need to create and cure your jewelry at home The only thing you need to have is an oven thermometer to test your oven temperature. Even though your digital display reads 335 degrees, it may be off. Best to test it each time. Every kit comes with a reusable oven pouch, simple directions and it only takes 30 minutes.
