There are two things a person can say about fanny packs; they are UGLY and they are ridiculously practical. I mean it. I hate fanny packs, just saying the name immediately conjures images of slow walking tourists, blocking the sidewalk in Times Square while squinting in confusion at maps (by the way NEVER standing on a New York street reading a map, you might as well hold up a sign that says “My wallet is in my back pocket and yes, you may have it”).
They are also furiously practical. During the summer months, I loathe carrying my big purse around and my summer dresses rarely have pockets. So I usually just stuff my spending money in my bra. But recently the Bodega on the corner put up a sign saying they DID NOT want my sweaty boob money. It wasn’t personal. At least I hope it wasn’t.
What to do? Well as it turns out we now have a sleek stylish alternative to the fanny pack.
Beau and Ro belt bags! You can either rock them as a stylish clutch or undo the belt and secure them around your waist. The bags aren’t huge but how much stuff do you really need to drag around with you?
And the bags look really good! Coming in a large variety of styles you’ll find one that you can easily work into your wardrobe and the high quality, means you’ll have your hands free for a long time before you need to replace it.
