April you were one whirlwind of a month, and so has this first week of May. I mean it’s Friday the 6th already! I can’t, where is time going….If you’ve noticed a big absence of posts, it’s been for good reason. After one hectic month of styling/planning a bridal shower, my cousin’s baby shower, a 1st Holy Communion, Minion 1st Birthday and showcasing at a bridal show along with four large dessert orders, this girl was beyond exhausted. Just rereading everything I did within this last month, just makes me tired. So when I returned home this past Sunday from my last event, I was wiped out, and couldn’t move…for a few days actually.
Being so busy really did motivate me, especially during times when April did become quite frustrating. My knee, the one I had surgery on almost two years ago, started bothering me pretty bad and still has. So when you’ve got so much to do and can barely walk, well it’s a huge let down. I had to drop out from the half marathon I signed up for, and have been bound to mostly sitting. For someone who is as active and constantly on the go, it’s been hard to accept and deal with. Here’s hoping this third round of therapy prevents these fall outs from happening in the future.
So having a non-stop working month with medical setbacks, I totally needed this week to just do NOTHING. I slept in more because my body was begging for it, and my mind just wasn’t in it to write up blog posts, and so I didn’t. I needed these days off, to refresh my mind, and to take care of a few personal matters. And work isn’t over, I’ve got projects and future events beginning up again later this month, so I needed to make sure that I was ready to hit the ground running. I definitely did overload myself in April, more than I probably should’ve, but like I mentioned here, it was really to challenge myself, and I succeeded! 2016 is all about success, and I’m going to give it all I’ve got to achieve my career dreams.
I’m hoping that this rain let’s up soon, seriously Mother Nature I need sunshine, so that I can finally enjoy doing the things this season brings back. How’s your 2016 at, I hope it’s great! Here are just a few snippets of what I was up to in April…
Spring cleaned all my bed linens and pillows, which included giving my duvet a nice ironing. Cleared out a good bit of clutter from my desk and work space. So many happy dandelions in the garden! Spending the day antiquing in Lambertville, with lunch at the beautiful Lambertville HouseHave you heard of Moo, they seriously are the best for business cards and ad materials. Was beyond happy with how my flyers turned out!Finding inspiration at the Gypsy Farmhouse.
A snippet of my showcase from the Elegant Bridal Show at The Stony Hill Inn. I’ll be sharing more next week. The most fragrant peonies. I seriously was to live in a field of peonies!
Witnessing beautiful fado by the amazing Ana Moura, at the equally stunning Carnegie Hall. There are really quite few venues to attend a concert than the 125 year old hall. Still waiting for the rain to stop so I can plant all these lettuces. Decorated sugar cookies for a sweet boy’s 1st Holy Communion.
