A long 4th of July weekend spent on the beach with my love and two friends of ours is just what we all needed. It was great to reconnect friends from school that happened to all be in Atlantic City the same night, eat lots of delicious seafood and refreshing drinks along the marina, and simply relax all those daily worries. I guess I shouldn’t have said it too many times that I wish I was spending each summer day outside, because instead of coming back home with a tan, I came back with a severely hurt knee. I knew sooner of later my clumsiness would seriously get me in trouble, and this time a simple trip on a step turned into a lot more.
I can’t lie I’m very scared, this is my first surgery and needles are not my friend, but I’m also worried about the long and hard recovery I have ahead of me. But I’m determined and motivated to get my knee stronger than it was before, I’ve got too much fire in me and ideas I need to take on. There are many things that I was looking forward to do this summer that unfortunately I won’t be able to do now, but I’m not going to let an injury stop me from living and enjoy my life. I’m actually going to take this recovery and rest time to focus on other things I’ve wanted to accomplish that require less physical effort. I’ll be strong and I’m going to make the best of it. So I guess this weekend I’m going to take advantage of being able to walk with a trip to the farmers market and some time in the kitchen. Have a great weekend!
