ShareX is an open source program for Windows that lets you take a screenshot and do all sorts of things with the screenshot which only most premium/paid apps provide. ShareX not only takes full screenshots or selected area screenshots but also freehand regions the way you like it.
ShareX is a very easy to use and resourceful application for Windows. The built-in editor is very useful and easy-to-use. You can add watermarks, annotate the screenshot, and do a lot of editing to the screenshot. At start it feels a bit overwhelming with so many options and so many features but use it for few minutes and you’ll get used to it.
It can also be configured to upload the screenshots automatically or manually to various sites like Dropbox, Google Drive, Imgur, Imageshack, Flickr, Picasa and more. As soon as the image is uploaded the sharable link is copied to your clipboard for quick sharing.
ShareX also has a screen recorder and can help you make screencasts too, not only it records but you can configure it to take screenshot(s) when you want automatically by setting up a timer.
