Reptar (@reptarmusic) were completely nuts. Their frontman didn’t hold back in any way, and the show was better for it. He would yell at the top of his lungs, plugging away with everything he had and erupting with an unrecognizable voice. It was almost as though he had a foreign accent, but from a country that doesn’t exist. Nonetheless, Reptar was the perfect wake up and preparation for even more great music the rest of the night.

Cults (@cultscultscults) have improved a great deal since the first time I saw them perform at a small venue in An Arbor, MI as openers for Maps and Atlases . Since then, they’ve released an album and signed to Columbia; going from a 30-100 person crowd to playing two sold out shows at Terminal 5 with Foster The People. Though they performed the same catchy tunes they always do, the band carried a new sense of confidence. I’m sure they are well on their way to touring as a headliner.

Shortly after releasing their LP TorchesFoster The People (@fosterthepeople) completely exploded, the rallying effect of the album’s refined production and unforgettable melodies. The live show was no different. Frontman Mark Foster played almost every instrument on stage, but was just as comfortable with only a microphone in his hand. In addition to the amazing light show, Foster The People gave everyone exactly what they wanted, a faithful taste of what they fell in love with on Torches.
