Already a fan of electronic-folk band Foreign Fields, I was thrilled to see them post a 5-song live album recording of songs from their debut full-length, Anywhere But Where I Am, that took place while on tour with Seryn a few months ago. They’ve also made the recording session available in a video playlist, which exponentially enhances the listening experience, given its dimly lit, tender atmosphere. If you haven’t heard their debut album yet, the beautifully performed Tuscaloosa will serve as a gripping introduction to the band’s organic, evocative brand of folk. Featuring a slew of guitars, harmonica, violin, sincere harmonies, and other light textures, Tuscaloosa feels delicate and sincere, a must listen for fans of Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes.
For the full Foreign Fields’ Tuscaloosa experience, watch the video playlist featuring three of the tracks on their YouTube page, and then download the tracks over at their Bandcamp.
