I don't usually, as bad reviews of books/films/T.V always put me off particularly if there are multiple bad reviews about the same thing. However, I will still buy a book I REALLY want to read if it gets a bad review. Also, it really depends who it is who reviews it and why they didn't like it- if it's someone I know has very different tastes from me or says they hate it because it's too surreal/complicated/obscure/gimmicky, these are usually things a lot of people don't like that I usually enjoy!
To go back to the original question though, I don't usually buy books BECAUSE of a bad review, but if they're bad because they portray something favourable that I really disagree with (e.g a lot of people were saying on Goodreads that 'Hush, Hush' advocates a violent relationshio) then I do have a morbid curiosity to see if I agree or see how bad the book actually is. If I had more money I probably would buy these books but as it is I make do with extracts and quotes! Thanks for reading and for following! I love me some followers.
