Folklore Imperial Stout – Black Bridge Brewery

By Mike @mikescraftbeer

From Black Bridge Brewery in Swift Current Saskatchewan comes their "Folklore Imperial Stout" a beer that is only available at the brewery. The beer pours a black opaque colour with a brown head. The aroma consists of chocolate, toffee, anise, treacle, roasted malts and is overall sweet. The flavour is of burnt coffee, roasted malts, anise, smoke, chocolate, treacle, toffee, earth, oak, vanilla, bitterness and alcohol. The alcohol content comes in at a big 11%. If you have access to this beer buy more than one bottle and cellar it. This was a very well executed Imperial Stout!

Commercial Description: Aged in American white oak which gives the beer vanilla undertones pairing nicely with the roasted malt, bitter coca and black licorice flavours.
