Florida Georgia Line, 6-Pack EP Review

By Phjoshua @thereviewsarein

Just in time for the Memorial Day long weekend in the US, country music mega-stars have released a cool half dozen songs on their new 6-Pack EP.

The award-winning, Platinum-selling, 10+ billion streamed duo went short this time, and that's alright. As the follow-up to 2019's Can't Say I Ain't Country, the 6-Pack EP fits. Yes, we always wish there were 10 songs on a release, but we're not throwing away what we're getting here because of it. Hit play.

Off the top with Beer:30, Florida Georgia Line gives us something to listen to and drink to and sing to. The song is a summer party joint and there's nothing wrong with that as we get into the summer season. It's got great The Cadillac Three vibes, and I can already imagine the two acts on a festival stage somewhere, late at night in the FGL headlining spot, teaming up to make some memories with this one.

Second Guessing is another highlight on the EP, coming straight from NBC's Songland (May 18, 2020). Originally penned by Pickering, ON native Griffin Palmer, the song is a hit after coming through the pipeline with the duo and the writing/producing crew on the show. With approximately 4 million US viewers on show night and all of the downloads and streams since, this one is picking up love, quickly.

U.S. Stronger is a great fit for those late-night, beer in your belly, arm in arm with your buddies, patriotic swaying and singing moments. It's a track that might not get that treatment everywhere as we try to pull through a pandemic - but it's got legs and deserves to be on Memorial Day playlists for years to come. Add it now so you're ready in the future. Add it to a list of things as American as apple pie and baseball.

Oh, and sleeping on I Love My Country is both impossible and foolish. The track is already climbing the charts, picking up big plays, and it's the kind of fun that we've come to expect from Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley. The song is a certified country bop and it's a winner on radio, streaming services, and it'll be a winner live when we all get back to those stages we miss so much. The writing team, including Kane Brown and Corey Crowder, should be very happy with how this one turned out!

6-Pack is sweet and it's fun. It's upbeat and it's ready for slow dances. In just six songs, Florida Georgia Line hits their marks and offers fans something to enjoy this weekend and all of the sunny days they want to as we get into summer 2020.

Hit play, turn it up, grab a cold beer, soda pop, lemonade, cocktail, wine spritzer, white claw, or glass of water, and enjoy!
