Everyone loves the look of a sexy pair of heels but many women can't or choose not to wear them. Even if they have a closet full of of heels, they will put on their trusty flats that are more comfortable and get them where they want to go faster. If you are going to spend the day on your feet, flats with support are important. A pair like these from Banana Republic may not offer the best comfort but they are sure cute and are great for situations where you aren't on your feet all day. Some women can tolerate flats like this and others find the severe flatness of them just as uncomfortable to wear as heels.

If you can wear them, I love the way the coral in the shoes works with the green of this ponte dress from Boden. To bring the colors together I added this colorful necklace from Stella & Dot and, for a layer, used this white blazer from J. Crew.

If you want to get more with less, a pair of metallic flats will definitely get the job done. However, not all metallic shoes are the same or appropriate for work. Look for styles, like this pair from Calvin Klein are understated enough to not be too blingy or too loud.

Metallic shoes will match just about any colors you wear. I particularly like how this pair looks with olive, like in this sleeveless dress from Theory that has been layered with a yellow Modcloth cardigan. Finishing the look I added this gold bangle bracelet and Anthropologie drop earrings.

When wearing flats with pants be sure that your pants are hemmed to work with them or choose to wear them with ankle length or skinner pants that don't have a lot of fabric at the hem. You don't want you pants dragging on the ground.
