Remember the usual Gmail envelope icon you get on your tab? If you still have that then you are luck if not then precisely the reason why you are reading this.
Over the past few weeks, several Gmail users have noticed a new favicon for your gmail tab. For many its annoying as it provides little to no information about your inbox. The earlier Gmail envelope icon used to provide a quite a bit of information about your inbox just by glancing at it. Now the new icon just shows a blue ugly gear icon.
Some like it but most hate it. Luckily, there is a solution to fix it.
Getting back the Gmail Envelope Icon
- Click the cog icon in the top right corner of your inbox. Go to Settings.
- Go to Labs
- Enable the ‘Unread message Icon‘ > Save Changes
