“Guys! Don’t worry! My mom didn’t forget the password to her blog! She’s ALIVE!” – Everett
1. Well, this week I’m fairly certain I had the stomach flu for perhaps the first time in my entire life. Whilst pregnant. Let me state the obvious: it wasn’t pretty. There was a lot of barfing, a lot of sweating, a lot of Mad Men watching, and a lot more barfing. Brett took excellent care of me, as he always does, and I was reminded again of how lucky I am to be married to a man who willingly sits in the bathroom with me while I’m puking my brains out, making sure I don’t get barf in my hair. I married a good one, folks.
2. We are moving! To the house across the street. Yes, really. When we sold our house last summer, we moved into the best rental we could find at the time, which was a lovely two-bedroom house in a neighborhood that we absolutely love. Our lease is up July 1st, and with baby #2 on the way, we agreed that if we happened to find a three-bedroom house around the same time, we’d consider moving again. And THEN, the house across the street became available July 1st! It was too good to be true. It has three bedrooms, more living space, an updated kitchen, more natural light, and it’s going to be the easiest move on the planet. We are so, so grateful. I plan to use Everett’s little red wagon to wheel our belongings across the street. Instagram to follow.
3. Speaking of moving: we are redecorating our bedroom for the first time in seven years. I AM SO EXCITED. Is it just me, or is your bedroom the last room in the house to get attention? It takes a long time to put a house together, and I’ve noticed that over the years, I have spent countless time and energy (and money!) perfecting every room of our house except for our bedroom. NO MORE. I want my bedroom to be a sanctuary, a mini escape, a place where I can shut the door for 30 minutes when Brett gets home from work and breathe and write and relax. It sounds trivial, but I really do relax better in a pretty room. First order of business? We bought a new bed. I think it’s both incredible and ridiculous that I can buy a whole bed off Amazon but hey! The price was right and free shipping so whatever. I’ll let you know how it turns out.
4. Mini dream come true, On to Baby published one of my maternity shoots! This was one of my photography goals for 2014 and I was so happy to check it off the list, yay!
5. I am very, very behind on the 52 Project. Sorry. One massive update coming next week. Between traveling and Everett’s birthday and getting sick and being pregnant and a hundred other excuses, I couldn’t keep up. I thought about just scrapping it altogether, but then I thought NO. No. I love having an excuse to pick up my camera during the day to capture Everett in his element. Late is better than never, amiright? (Plus, my mom has been bugging me about it, so there’s that).
Happy summer, friends! As soon as I get my life together, I’ll be back to regular blogging. Thanks for sticking around despite my random disappearance acts.
