Canonical confirmed via The Next Web, that these first Ubuntu smartphones will come powered with “a superior user experience on mid to high-end hardware.” Once launched, the devices will go on sale through the official websites of bq, Meizu and Ubuntu.

Mark Shuttleworth, founder of Canonical has also hinted to TNW that Ubuntu-powered tablets are on the way. Looks like we can expect to see a worthy Android opponent in the mobile market very soon.
