Pale Moon is an optimized open source web browser based on Mozilla’s Firefox. Latest version of the browser, Pale Moon 19 comes as a customized version of Firefox 19, which provides the best performance for low-end systems.
This cool browser has been out there for a while and new Pale Moon update 19.0.1 fixes several minor bugs and issues regarding bookmarking errors, add-ons issues and more.
It’s my first time trying out this browser. It’s lightweight, scrolling feels smooth and most importantly it uses less CPU usage than a normal web browser. I did a little experiment to see how much CPU is uses compared to Firefox and Google Chrome. To my surprise, Pale Moon came first. It uses around the same amount of CPU used by Firefox but only a little bit lower. Don’t even get me started on Google Chrome, basically it just took over the entire CPU.
I’ve been an avid Chrome user. Although, now I’m thinking about moving over to this browser because it uses less CPU power while offering a smooth experience, which is perfect for my low-end PC. This browser is all about speed and optimal performance. So, don’t expect to see a browser with the most beautiful UI. But, I’m sure you’ll love it.
