Qualifications
Ability to meet standards established by superiors; Ability to learn technical firefighting and EMS techniques; Some mechanical knowledge and the ability to learn to operate and maintain fire equipment and ambulances; Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with fellow employees and the public; Ability to keep simple records and prepare reports; Ability to respond to and put out fires.
Special Requirements
A current Kansas driver’s license; A Class B driver’s license; National Incident Management and Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operation certification; Fire Fighter I and Emergency Medical Technician (Basic) training; Must be available to work nights, overtime, in shifts, and weekends.
