FIREFIGHTER
Education: Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade. Related college level training is desirable.
Experience: Some work experience performing fire-fighting activities. Completion of an eighteen-month probation period as a Dixon Volunteer Firefighter is desirable.
Licenses, Certificates and/or Other Requirements:
· The candidate shall be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
· Ability to possess and maintain an EMT-ID certificate.
· Ability to possess and maintain a CPR certificate.
· Ability to possess California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certificate within six (6) months of initial hire.
· Possession of a California Class B Drivers License is required before completion of probation; and is a condition of continued employment.
· A satisfactory driving record is a condition of initial and continued employment.
FIRE FIGHTER/PARAMEDIC
Education: Equivalent to completion of the 12th grade. Related college level training is desirable.
Experience: Some work experience performing fire fighting and/or paramedic services is desirable. Completion of an eighteen-month probation period as a Dixon Volunteer Firefighter is highly desirable.
Licenses, Certificates and/or Other Requirements:
· Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
· Possession of a current, valid Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic license meeting the requirements of the California Emergency Medical Services Authority.
· Ability to possess California State Fire Marshal Firefighter I Certificate within six (6) months of initial hire.
· Possession of a current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate issued by the American Heart Association or the equivalent. (Pediatric advanced life support & basic trauma life support or international trauma life support)
· Ability to possess Solano County Paramedic Accreditation within three (3) months of initial hire.
· Possession of a California Class B Drivers License is required before completion of probation; and is a condition of continued employment.
· A satisfactory driving record is a condition of initial and continued employment.
· Within fifteen (15) months of employment, and as a condition for passing probation, incumbents must obtain Firefighter II Certification.
