Fire/Rescue Department
The Londonderry Fire/Rescue Department is establishing an eligibility list for the following positions: Firefighter/AEMT and Firefighter/Paramedic. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Fire Science or related field preferred); Nationally Registered Advanced EMT/ Paramedic; and Firefighter Level 2. Candidate must provide CPAT certification or comply with Rule Part 703-Transfers. Candidate will be required to pass an extensive entrance exam including polygraph, psychological and physical examinations. Following probation, candidate is required to pass a final entrance exam with a grade of 70% or greater, along with an Acrophobia test. Applicants are required to hold a valid NH Operator license and must attain CDL-B with Tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire.
The Town of Londonderry Fire/Rescue Department serves a community of approximately 25,000, and is a career oriented, full-time fire department staffing three stations 24/7, 365 days a year with 50 full-time members. The Fire/Rescue Department provides Advanced Life Support services to the community with three ambulances and an annual call volume of 3600 calls. Starting pay rate: FF/AEMT $19.14/hr. and FF/Paramedic $20.99/hr., plus educational incentives and benefits.
