Final Fantasy 7 Remake director didn't realize he was the director
Final Fantasy 7 Remake director Tetsuya Nomura has revealed that he wasn't aware he was the project's director, believing that the title had been given to original FFVII director Yoshinori Kitase.
"As preproduction went along and I offered my opinions on what I thought should be done, Mr. Kitase would ask me how the individual elements should be adjusted in fine detail," Nomura explained in an interview with Famitsu. "It was very perplexing. Then one day, as I was checking the internal company presentation video it said 'Director Tetsuya Nomura' at the end."
He continued: "So I called up Mr. Kitase and said, 'It says that I'm the director for some reason.' To which he replied, 'Of course it does.'".
This all happened back when the project was just getting off the ground, with Nomura now fully aware of the job at hand.
