Well, guys, we made it! It's finally Memorial Day Weekend which means we have an entire summer ahead of us with cookouts, fireworks, beach days, and, of course, music festivals. New England has always been a bit more conservative than the rest of the country, so it's not surprising that it took us a few years to catch up with an answer to Coachella! Boston Calling, which launched a few years ago, is this weekend and I can't wait to dance for three days straight. But what do you wear to a music festival in the heart of downtown Boston? Don't worry, I have your festival fashion all planned out below!
Free People Washed Denim Overalls// Valentina Crop Top by Rebecca Minkoff// Nasty Gal x Nila Anthony Lizzy Suede Crossbody// RAILS Hunter Long Sleeve Button Down// Bella Vita Raine Bootie
With an evening temperature of sixty degrees predicted for this Friday evening, I'm dressing for a chill. But since Beck is the headliner Friday night, I think it's the perfect time to break out all those 90s inspired pieces! Look for me in the VIP box, rocking a crop top under denim overalls with my favorite Rail plaid tied around my waist until the sun sets. Once it gets cool, I'll wear it loose and open like a jacket. Just call me Angela Chase.
MinkPink Blueberry Bloom Romper// ASOS Coin Spike Hair Crown// Porthole Layered Collar at Bauble Bar// Winona Wedge Sandal by French Connection (Now 40% Off at Nordstrom's Half Yearly Sale!)// Dragon Girl Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil// "Dakota" Flash Tattoos//
One of the things that sets Boston Calling apart from other major musical festivals is that it takes place in the heart of the city, rather than out in a rural field or stadium, so while it's fun to embrace some parts of festival fashion it's also important to stay city chic, IMO. I'm going with a romper that mimics a mini dress in a bold print with color blocked low wedges. Right now, I'm obsessed with pairing blues and orange tones so I like the subtle clash that these French Connection sandals provide! But I'll give a nod to traditional boho style with a bunch of Flash Tattoos (I'm a big fan of the Dakota set) and a hair chain. And, of course, I'll finish off the look with my old standby: Dragon Girl!
I'm sadly working on Sunday and won't be able to attend the third day of the festival but I can't wait to see what all my favorite fellow fashionistas are rocking! Not going to the festival? Don't worry- there are still some tickets available on a limited basis so I expect to see you all there!
