Happy February!
My favorite month, and not just because it’s my birthday month, or because of Valentine’s Day, but because it’s all about my favorite subject….LOVE!!
I thought I’d share with you another one of my orphaned articles from Yahoo. This one’s all about aromatherapy and it’s effects and uses for aphrodisiacs and special libido recipes for you and your favorite person.
About aromatherapy and the libido
Aromatherapy has, over the centuries, been used for countless purposes, including aiding the mind, body and spirit to heal, as well as having calming effects, and even help with beauty, and even love. But for many ancient cultures almost every one has well documented effects of flowers and their distilled oils on the human libido, and aphrodisiac aromatherapy is part of their makeup. From the ancient Egyptians, Romans, Aztecs and Sumerians come the passed down romantic helpers of jasmine, peppermint, lilies, neroli, sunflowers, and of course, roses. Logan Pearsall Smith pointed out in the late 1800s that flowers are the sex organ of the plant and flowers are actually the sexual representation of the plant. Hmmmm, no sexual innuendos there.
Most aphrodisiac oils send messages to relax peripheral nervous energy and instead concentrate that energy for stimulation of the sexual centers. Certain odors provoke strong desires by increasing sex hormones within us. Aromas can also calm the nervous system, thus reducing stress and tension and releasing more energy for enjoyable pursuits such as sex. Below are listed of some of the better known aphrodisiac essential oils that can be diffused for a sexy atmosphere, or added to a bath for the ultimate luxury spa experience. Also, a perfect way to get things going in the bedroom is by Massaging your partner with these oils (in a carrier oil) is also an incredibly sensual way of creating a loving space with guaranteed results, always!
I agree with this aromatherapy as aphrodisiac blog– it says,
“In order to raise our libido, we have to first raise our body temperature. The aphrodisiac essential oils are mostly warm, rich aromas, such as those that come from spices and certain flowers. Aphrodisiac aromatherapy can be tricky. It may take calculation. What one person loves, another might find ghastly, but on a very basic level aromatherapy is a natural aphrodisiac that works to calm, soothe, stimulate and reduce stress, or negative energy. Because impotence and frigidity is most often associated with stress, emotion and psychology, plants that work to calm and soothe while actively stimulating hormonal production and reducing stress and anxiety are key elements in an active and healthy sex life. Flower aromas can have strong psychedelic effect if not used appropriately but in moderation it is mild and aids in sexual health by improving the mental and physical aspect of the one smelling it. Some flowers though can have both an aphrodisiac effect through its aroma and/or via its connotation with lust, beauty, and pleasure.”

Sexy For Him;

- 6 drops of Sandalwood essential oil
- 2 drops of Patchouli essential oil
- 3 drops of peppermint essential oil

Hot & Sexy Rub
- 3-4 drops cinnamon essential oil
- 1 drop clove essential oil *optional
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil
- 1 drop ginger
- 1-2 drops jasmine or rose essential oil
- 3-4 drops vanilla absolute
This blend is absolutely lick-able! Add this to 2-4 ounces of organic coconut oil and massage the body. Be very careful as cinnamon essential oil is VERY hot, so you may want to try adding more carrier ( coconut oil ) to the blend to tone it down if it’s too hot for you. Also, please note that if you are going to ingest any of these oils make sure to use only pure, high grade essential oils as others may be harmful and very dangerous! And if this blend doesn’t work to spice things up in the bedroom, then I’m sorry to say your lover must be dead. Maybe invest in some electro-shock therapy, or if all else fails try Viagra! :P
Warming Bath
- 2 drops Vanilla, Benzoin or Sandalwood essential oil
- 2 drops Ginger essential oil
- 4 drops Sweet Orange essential oil
Add these 8 drops of essential oils directly to a warm (or hot if you prefer) bath and disperse well – or blend with 1 TBLS sunflower, jojoba, grapeseed oil and/or 1-2 TBLS unscented bubble bath and add to a warm bath. Soak in the bath for 15-20 minutes inhaling the vapors. Do not get bath water in your eyes as it will sting. This spa treatment is especially excellent for winter time or when you have been suffering from a sickness, cold or chills.
Places to buy essential oils:
I’m sure you’ve heard that there is a difference in essential oils, and yes there is. Usually the higher price, the better the oil, but that’s not always the case. Do your own research about the company you want to purchase from and make sure they offer some kind of data sheet on each individual oil they sell. Many will try to fool you by diluting them and calling them ‘pure’, but as I mentioned, please do your own detective work, and you’ll be happier with your purchases. Here are a few I trust:
Mountain Rose Herbs : Mountain Rose has tons of great organic ingredients, and are a well respected company in the organic and natural products arena.
Bella Mira ; If you love Young Living Oils or are a Young Living Distributor try Bella Mira therapeutic grade essential oils .. test for yourself the difference…you will receive a discounted price if you are already a distributor w/YL.
Young Living Oils – Young Living is a world renown company that sells very high quality therapeutic grade essential oils and supplements. Tho’ they are expensive, they are worth it. If you would like to receive a discount on therapeutic grade essential oils try checking out my friends’ Young Living oils page.
I hope you find many uses for these aromatherapy aphrodisiac blends, and I hope you love with all your heart, and in return have someone to share all your heart with.
