February is a boring old month isn't it? it's not spring, not quite done with Winter.
I decided this month to only do a Beauty favourites because nothing else has been all that great to be honest. I lost someone close to me unexpectedly, and it was my Papa's anniversary in February so it's far from a celebratory month.
Before I go depressing you all, here's my February Beauty Favourites!
Starting with skincare, I've been using my Ishga Scottish Seaweed scrub a lot. This stuff is really rough so is ideal for fake tan prep or if you're like me and just like to use a good scrub once a week, this stuff is right up your street. My skin feels really soft and clean after using it. The properties in Seaweed are amazing for the skin so I'd definitely recommend checking out Ishga if you haven't already.
The other product I've been using a lot of is the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer. A lot of beauty lovers have been ranting and raving about the 8 hour cream for yeeeears and I'm just jumping on the bandwagon. Better late than never right?
The cream is thick and just melts into the skin instantly. The best way I can describe it is it's like watering a plant, it feels like my skin has had a good watering. As ever Holly, GREAT way of describing products...
I use this in the evening and a small amount goes a long way. I use it on my lips too and it really does help to make them baby arse smooth.
Moving on to makeup. I saw the new L'oreal Infallible Total Cover on the beautiful Jamie Genevieve and had to have it. I love that L'oreal foundations have a porcelain shade, so many drugstore brands don't cater to fair complexions or for dark skin tones.
When I picked this up, as I do with all makeup I buy for some reason, I shook it. It made a full on rattling noise rather than a swishing or movement, it was like shaking a loose powder compact which made me a weeeee bitty apprehensive that this would be thicker than anything I'd used before.
This does have a thick consistency and I can't lie, I need to use more than I normally would because it doesn't spread very far - BUT!! and there's a big BUT here, the coverage and finish of this is incredible.
I wouldn't wear this everyday, but if you had a special occasion or an 'all day' occasion then this would give a really beautiful finish. Once it settles on the skin, it doesn't feel heavy and it doesn't move much. It feels heavier than average but that's to be expected from a full coverage foundation.
Aside from the foundation, I've been loving the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I've been through two tubes of this so far and I flippin love it. I always have the intention of wearing falsies, then I apply two coats of this and don't bother. I don't need them! I haven't tried the waterproof version yet so that's making it's way onto my shopping list :)
Up next is the mini Clinique Pop Matte in 'Cake Pop'. This is a matte liquid lipstick in a miniature form (as part of a gift free with purchase from Debenhams!) and although it feels a tad drying on the lips (as all matte lip products do), it lasts all day long.
Speaking of matte liquid lipsticks, the new GOSH Liquid Matte Lips are INCREDIBLE! I've only tried two shades so far, but this one (Nougat Fudge 003) matches and BEATS the quality of Kylie Jenner's Matte lipsticks in my opinion. The formula starts out wet (as all matte lipsticks do) but once dried, finishes as a beautiful pinky brown nude which for my skintone is ideal. Obsessed.
Lastly but by no means least is the Bourjois Liner Pinceau Eyeliner. This is a blacker than black liquid eyeliner. I love liquid liner more than liner pens nowadays (they don't dry out!). This one has a brush that is thin but not pencil thin, and it is a flexible brush. A lot of people would think of this as their worst nightmare but I love this for allowing me to change angles easier. I always get a good flick everytime I use this and at £6.99 it's a bargain.
So there's my beauty favourites of February 2017!
