0223_sunvillage_townmeeting_w400_res72 SUN VILLAGE – The public is invited to attend the monthly Sun Village Town Council meeting taking place 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24 at the Shaw Building, which is behind Daisy Gibson School in Littlerock.

According to an email from the Littlerock Town Council secretary, the Sun Village Town Council will dissolve its current membership at Monday’s meeting and will announce an election for town council candidates.

“Please attend this important meeting and make your voice heard, maybe you might want to place your hat in the ring or know someone who would like to be a Town Council member,” Annamarie Dyemartin, secretary of the Littlerock Town Council, wrote in an email.

Word is out in these parts of unincorporated Antelope Valley that the Sun Village Town Council is being forced to disband their membership by court order.

The Bee heard from a little bird – that is, the following remains to be confirmed by this reporter – that the current roster of Sun Village council members had been selected by their associates rather than elected by the voters of the community.

With this supposedly being the case, the town council must disband and hold a proper election.

There’s also some hullabaloo over a certain member on the council having created the present problem due to a falling out with past members, which allegedly resulted from some very improper use of fundraising dollars.

Perhaps this too will be sorted out at the public meeting.

However, the most immediate concern is that, according to a source in the community, “no one is qualified to serve on the council” because of the alleged prevailing cronyism.

Sun Village Town Council holds its public meetings the 4th Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Shaw Building, 9657 East Avenue Q-10 (at 97th and Ave Q-10) in Littlerock.
