Feast Your Ears on Blacklight Dinner Party [stream]

“Lift Away” by New York City’s Black Light Dinner Party is one of those songs that is satisfying no matter what kind of mood you’re in. Need something to ease you into the morning? “Lift Away” has the appropriate chillwave vibe. How about something to get you through a long afternoon? “Lift Away” has a solid electro beat that will snap your body out of its funk. It’s a crowd pleaser through and through while still contributing something unique and original to the genre.

But enough with the sales pitch. “Lift Away” is an awesome song by a band that has been gaining a lot of well-deserved attention recently. They’ve honed in on a successful formula consisting of glowing synth, vintage bass, and elegant, cohesive composition. Their much-anticipated debut album Songs & Lovers will be out on May 15, and I’ve got a feeling it’s going to earn a spot on The Wild Honey Pie Best of 2013 list.

That being said, for all of you NYC readers, make sure to mark April 24 on your calendars. The Wild Honey Pie is putting on a concert at Pianos and Black Light Dinner Party, Hockey, Monogold, and Late Guest at the Party will all be in attendance. Tickets are selling out fast, so click here to purchase yours now.

Stream “Lift Away” up above and join us in looking forward to Sons & Lovers, out next month via Nylon Records.
