We’ve all heard that while liposuction can reduce a targeted area (think thighs, belly, and arms), it won’t necessarily help with cellulite – and may even make the bulging fat pockets appear worse. Cellulite (insert groans and moans here). The very word can elicit pure and utter fear in a gal and makes some of us to take up strange things like “dry brushing” and too-good-to-be-true anti-cellulite topicals. So when I heard about BodyTite, a liposuction procedure that aids in both fat and cellulite reduction, I was all ears (and thighs). Apparently BodyTite combines liposuction and RFAL (Radio-Frequency Assisted LipoTightening) that results in body “contouring” (read: fat removal + skin smoother). Similar to traditional liposuction, BodyTite also “coagulates” the fat while producing low heat levels. The result? Think of it as “ironing” the skin – thus reducing those fat pockets that cause the appearance of cellulite. (Skin ironing? That’s a laundry chore I’d happily try. Hey, vanity reigns supreme.) According to their stats, BodyTite can provide 25 to 50 percent skin shrinkage versus 8 to 18 percent with traditional liposuction. The downtime? Depending on which area(s) you treat, a typical treatment takes about 1-2 hours. And while results can be seen immediately, best results are typically seen after 6-12 weeks.
So, if fat + cellulite reduction is on your radar screen, gals, BodyTite is worth investigating. A smoother + smaller tush? You had me at smoother…
