Fat Burning Rules

fat burning rulesWant to burn more fat? Follow these simple runs to burn more fat quickly.

Eat Breakfast

An obvious one, but good advice none the less. Eating breakfast fires up the metabolism. If you can include some protein (eggs are great) in your breakfast and try and eat within an hour of waking up.

People who skip breakfast tend to snack later in the day, making bad choices too and generally eating more at lunch and dinner.

Watch your carbs

Specifically refined carbs. All of the following are refined carbs – white bread, white potatoes, pasta, biscuits and cakes, fizzy drinks, fruit juices  and sugary breakfast cereals are all refined carbs and spike your blood sugar levels.

Not all carbs are bad, you just need to make some simple changes. Complex carbs are needed for good health, add fruits and vegetables to your diet. Swap white bread for wholemeal, white pasta and rice for the brown variety. If possible restrict these to earlier in the day so you have time to burn the energy from consuming them.

Intense Exercise

Interval training, periods of high intensity exercise followed by a period of lower intensity has been proven to burn more fat than lower, more moderate levels. Interval training should be a mixture of cardio and resistance training. Doing this increases the fat burn long after you have finished exercising

Don’t skip meals

Skipping meals slows down your metabolism and forces your body to conserve energy and store fat. Eat at least three meals a day with a few snacks in between if needed.

Skipping meals also causes you to make the wrong food choices, reaching for high calorie fast food and ready meals because you’re hungry. Where possible try and prepare your meals in advance.

If you follow these simple rules you’ll burn more fat in no time.
