Fashion | Feeling Myself

Boohoo Blue Gingham DressBoohoo Blue Gingham DressBoohoo Blue Gingham DressCan you remember the last time I posted an outfit on here? LOL NOPE. You probably can't. Because it's been almost a year...
As far as personal style goes, I've been shopping online, buying bits here and there but nothing has screamed 'ME'. I have never been a tight fitting dress gal. You'll only ever see me in jeans when I'm working at the bar or going to a football match.
I suppose I have a very, erm, narrow taste in clothes perhaps? Maybe I'm just a little bit picky.
I think it all comes down to my bodily preferences. Y'know, I like to hide most of my arms, yet show off a lil shoulder. Not wear thigh hugging pants but rather give you a little bit of exposed leg (oo-er).
It's weird how we have body hang ups and it's totally ok to recognize them. But do you know what's better? Looking in the mirror and thinking SWEET NIBLETS, I LOOK GOOD.
I'm not afraid to say that before I went to take these photos, I did just that.
For the first time, in a long time.
I felt me.
It sounds so strange to blurt this all out. It's almost as if I couldn't stop smiling at myself in the mirror (Title: You're So Vain) and thinking about how much I loved my outfit.
It was a non-stop singing sensation in my head of Nicki and Yonce's 'Feelin' Myself'.
For the past six to eight months, I feel as if I have constantly been battling with myself in various aspects of my life. But how I perceive my body has been one of the biggest. I am still loving going to the gym a few times a week and have come to accept certain limbs of mine (thighs, I'm lookin' at you) but there is always that little voice in the back of my head.
It seems to have been having its little say when on the purchase of new clothes, and in all honesty, I have no idea why. I have always known what type of clothes suit me and what my taste is so it's time I shut that sh*t down and tell that voice to mind its own business.
I know what I want to wear & boy, will I wear it.
I like my smock dresses. I like my silver shoes. I like my floral patterns and from time to time, I like my vintage pieces.
Just because all the popular bloggers are sporting a certain style of clothes, doesn't mean I need to succumb to it and pick up similar stuff.
It's time to embrace MY personal style again. Even if I do look like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. I'm feelin' myself. More personal style posts? I think so Megan.
