The Cypress
Olga Road consists of Emily and Andrew, a husband and wife team living out their dream on Orcas Island, WA. They currently live on the same road Andrew grew up on, which is none other than Olga Road, of course! So, where do the leather jackets come in?
“5 years ago we started a small retail shop on the island.
We sell lots of locally made things as well as anything we find during
our travels. On a trip to Thailand we came across this tiny company
making leather jackets out of old leather trench coats, and it was love
at first sight. Not only did we love the jackets, but loved that they
were upcycling such a beautiful and long lasting material. We started
selling them in our small retail shop and they were such a hit we
decided to try them online. We have been overwhelmed with the
response. I guess lots of people are as excited as we were to find a
leather jacket that was upcycled, ethically made, affordable and in a
classic style.”
Olga Road hits many of the points that fall under the blanket of the term “etchically made”.
“Ethically made means using materials that don’t harm the
environment and supporting a healthy work environment that pays a
living wage.”
It’s easy to see the appeal of these timelessly cool jackets, but what else to Olga Road customers like about them?
“Our customers most appreciate that our jackets are upcycled so they
can feel better about wearing an animal based product. Since the
leather is all different, each of our jackets is one of a kind. Lots of
people love the Cypress for its edgy biker look and the Waldron is
also a favorite for those who want a simple, classic style.”

Since you never know what they may have in stock as far as color and size in a specific style, you’ll be happy to know that they do take requests if you’re looking for something specific, so you will be the first to know when it becomes available.
Part of the fun of looking through Olga Road’s stock is checking out the one-of-a-kind details that each possess.
“Since each jacket is made from an old leather trench coat, as much
as possible any unique details from the original jackets are
incorporated into the new jacket. We have a jacket on our site now
that is a metallic copper color and I have never seen anything like
it!”
Personally, I love that these jackets are the type of thing that you know will be in your closet for the rest of your life, because they will never go out of style.
“We love and are inspired by everything vintage and we believe good
style stands the test of time. Instead of reinventing the wheel our
jackets are tried and true classic cuts that will still be in style
for years to come.”

What can we look for this fall from Olga Road?
“We actually just got in a huge new shipment of jackets for the
fall mostly in some really great colored leathers. They should be up
on our site any day. We’ve got a few ideas for some new products but
it is all still in the development phase right now.”
