Picking up where we left off, driving down Zarzamora, a similar route that I had almost every day during my Middle School years. We passed by the Ybarra Car Wash at the corner of Salinas and Zarzamora and ran across this colorful piece. "Una Mesa Para La Gente"
We backtracked a bit and drove through the Cassiano Homes where there is a mural on just about every apartment building.
Then ended up back by downtown because I really wanted to take a picture of this Dr. Seuss mural on the corner of Pecan and Main, right across the street from the Little Patch Garden. We had a lot of fun with this one! If you did not know about Little Patch Garden, it is a local community garden run by volunteers, you can keep up to date with them by liking their Facebook page. From here, we walked to Tower of Americas. In hind sight, I would have parked a bit closer with these four little legs, but we would have missed this close up of public art. And our last mural of the tour, Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas, by Juan O'Gorman, above the Lila Cockrell Theatre by the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. Check out this listing for more art installations inside and along the building.
And if this is your first time catching this, you can catch Part One of our family mural tour where we stop at Taco Haven and drive through to the Westside of San Antonio.
